Welcome to Roberts Aesthetics and Wellness, where we offer the revolutionary trio for achieving youthful facial rejuvenation - the Bright & Tight treatment. Step One: Microneedling with Radiofrequency

Our RF Microneedling treatment is a non-surgical solution to tighten your skin effectively with minimal downtime. Bi-polar RF energy and microneedles work together to stimulate collagen and elastin regeneration, resulting in firmer, smoother, and more youthful skin.

Step Two: Erbium Laser Resurfacing

Erbium laser facial resurfacing is the key to improving skin tone, texture, as well as fine lines and wrinkles on the face, chest, hands, and neck. By repairing surface damage of the skin, this treatment targets fine lines, photo-aging, acne scarring, and poor texture, bringing out your skin's natural radiance.

Step Three: PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin)

To accelerate the rejuvenation process, we incorporate PRF, derived from your own blood, into the Houma Bright & Tight treatment. Packed with essential growth factors, PRF promotes healing and stimulates collagen production, ensuring optimal results and a revitalized complexion.

Bright & Tight Laser Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Bright & Tight treatment hurt?

Patients experience minimal discomfort during the Bright & Tight treatment. We prioritize your comfort by applying topical numbing for an hour before the treatment and using a Zimmer cooler during your session.

What is the recovery period for Bright & Tight?

Downtime varies based on the treatment intensity. Minimal downtime involves only one day of redness following the session. When using more aggressive approaches, redness, irritation, warmth, and swelling may persist for 7-10 days.

When is it safe to wear makeup after Bright & Tight?

The timeline for makeup application will vary depending on the intensity of the treatment. For milder treatments, makeup can sometimes be reapplied as early as the following day. For more aggressive treatments, your expert skincare provider will advise you on when you can safely resume normal makeup use.

How many Bright & Tight treatments will I need?

To achieve the best results, plan for a minimum of three treatment sessions, each spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Once you have achieved your desired results, it is recommended to have one session every 6 months to a year for maintenance treatments.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

  • Medical History: Disclose if you have a healing disorder, such as those caused by connective tissue disease or diabetes mellitus. Also, inform your provider if you are currently undergoing radiation or chemotherapy.
  • Infections: Notify your provider if you have any active infections or a history with herpes simplex in the mouth, lips, or face.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Do not undergo this treatment if you are currently breastfeeding or are pregnant.
  • Allergies: Go over any allergies you may have to antibiotics, anesthetics, or other medications.
  • Recent Medication Use: Do not go forward with this treatment if you have taken Isotretinoin (Accutane) in the last 12 months.
  • Skin Conditions: Discuss any history of keloid formations, hypertrophic scarring, or any other skin diseases you may have.

BEFORE FOLLOW-UP TREATMENTS

  • Medications: Inform your provider if you start taking any medications while you are mid your program of treatment sessions.
  • Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for four weeks prior to your treatment. This is because the treatment cannot be done on an area of skin that is sunburned or tanned.
  • Sunscreen Use: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or more to any treatment area that will receive any exposure to the sun.

EXPECTATIONS FOLLOWING YOUR TREATMENT

After treatment with Bright & Tight Houma patients may experience some mild side effects, including:

  • Redness: Mild to moderate redness (erythema) is common and may last for several hours or even weeks.
  • Mild Discomfort: You may experience a sensation like a mild sunburn immediately after the procedure. This is temporary and most people do not experience any significant discomfort from this treatment.
  • Peeling: A few days after the procedure, you may notice bronzing of the skin followed by mild to moderate peeling. This peeling is similar to the effects of sunburn.

Additional Reading

To help manage these side effects, you can:

  • Apply an Ice Pack: Apply an ice pack (wrapped in a cloth to avoid direct contact with the skin) to the treatment area to soothe discomfort.
  • Antihistamines: If you tend to swell after procedures, consider taking Zyrtec or Claritin for a week before and after your treatment session.
  • Use an Occlusive Ointment: Your healthcare provider may recommend using an occlusive ointment after facial resurfacing.
  • Skin Protection: Use a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF daily to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays.
  • Follow your Skincare Regimen: Continue following your skincare routine as recommended by your healthcare provider.
  • Avoid Picking at Your Skin: Refrain from picking at your peeling skin, as this can lead to unintentional scarring.

Please note that individual results may vary. If you have any concerns after your treatment, please contact your healthcare provider.

GENERAL SKINCARE

Maintaining a healthy skincare routine is important to protecting your new, rejuvenated skin. Candice Roberts, NP, will go over the skincare steps you need to take to maintain results after your treatment.

  • Cleanse Gently: Cleanse the treatment area twice a day using a mild cleanser. Avoid harsh soaps or cleansers that can strip away natural oils and irritate the skin. Recommended cleansers include ZO Gentle Cleanser, Cetaphil, Vanicream, or CeraVe.
  • Use Cool Water: Use cool water when cleansing the treated area. Hot water can further irritate the skin. Using just your fingertips, gently cleanse the skin, avoiding scrubbing or harsh movements.

Additional Reading

  • Moisturize Regularly: Keep the treated area hydrated by applying ZO Hydrating Crème or Vanicream Ointment several times daily. Continue using the ointment until any signs of blistering, dryness, or swelling have subsided, typically within two weeks depending on the treatment intensity. For sensitive areas requiring extended healing, you can continue to use the ointment as needed. When the area has fully healed, transition to a milder moisturizer such as ZO Daily Power Defense, Vanicream, Cetaphil, or CeraVe Moisturizers.
  • Night of Your Treatment:
    • Sleep with your head elevated to minimize swelling in the treated area. If needed, you can use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) if you are experiencing swelling or discomfort. To prevent irritation and the spread of bacteria, change your pillowcase each night until your skin is fully healed.
  • Day After Your Treatment
    • For gentle cleansing and to help reduce irritation, apply a vinegar solution to the treated area. Mix 1 capful of vinegar with 2 cups of water, soak a soft cloth in the solution, and gently pat it onto your skin.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the healing process to support overall skin health and promote repair. Proper hydration helps maintain skin elasticity and promotes wound healing.
  • Shower with Caution: Shower as usual, but be mindful that the treated area may be slightly sensitive to temperature extremes. Avoid using excessively hot water, as this can further irritate the skin.
  • Avoid Chlorine and Extreme Temperatures: Refrain from swimming pools, hot tubs, and chlorine-treated water during your treatment program. These environments can expose your skin to harsh chemicals and heat, which can hinder healing and cause irritation.
  • Protect from Sun Exposure: Minimize direct sun exposure during your treatment program. Once your skin has fully healed (generally within a week), consistently use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
  • Maintain Gentle Skincare: Avoid using loofah sponges, exfoliating products, or aggressive scrubbing techniques on the treated areas. These can irritate the skin and delay the healing process. Stick to gentle cleansing and moisturizing practices.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Sun Protection
    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds: For at least 30 days before your treatment, minimize direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds. The sun's ultraviolet rays can damage your skin and impair the healing process.
  • Skin Care
    • Gently treat the treated area: Avoid rubbing, scratching, or picking at the treated area. This can irritate the skin and delay healing. Pat the area gently with a soft towel after bathing or showering.
    • Postpone makeup application: Wait until the skin has fully healed and ointment is no longer required, typically 48-72 hours after the treatment, before applying makeup. Choose gentle, non-comedogenic makeup products to avoid further irritation.
    • Avoid shaving the treated area: For 48 hours after the procedure, refrain from shaving the treated area to prevent irritation and potential nicks or cuts.
    • Resume active skincare after healing: Once your skin has fully healed, approximately 7-14 days after the treatment, you may resume using skincare products with active ingredients such as hydroquinone, vitamin C, retinol, tretinoin, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or lactic acid.
