Fountain of Youth

Step One: Microneedling with Radiofrequency

Step Two: Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Step Three: PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin)

Harnessing the power of bi-polar radiofrequency (RF) energy and minimally invasive microneedles, microneedling offers a non-surgical skin tightening solution with minimal downtime. This innovative treatment delivers heat deep into the skin's layers, stimulating collagen production and remodeling, while also promoting elastin regeneration. The combined effect results in visibly firmer, smoother, and more even skin texture. The most recent development in laser skin resurfacing with little downtime is fractional laser delivery.

Additional Reading

When used on skin, this laser may precisely resurface damaged areas to reduce the appearance of fine lines, UV damage, acne scars, and age spots (discoloration). This will allow us to penetrate deeper to get better results with less downtime. It is also really good for laxed skin around the eyes and “smoker’s line” above the upper lip. Following the treatment, we will collect your blood and extract your body's own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) from it. This PRF will be topically applied to the skin to accelerate the healing process by utilizing your body's natural growth factors. To ensure optimal results, increase your hydration intake during the 72 hours leading up to your appointment. The downtime associated with the treatment can range from minimal to more extensive, with some cases requiring up to two weeks of recovery time.

Bright &
Tight

The ultimate trio in achieving facial rejuvenation.

Step One: Microneedling with Radiofrequency

Step Two: Erbium Laser Resurfacing

Step Three: PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin)

The only difference between these two plans is Erbium laser resurfacing. Erbium laser facial resurfacing offers improvement in skin texture, tone, and fine lines on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Removing surface skin damage treats photo-aging, fine lines, poor texture, and acne scarring.

Downtime varies depending on the treatment settings, which are customized to address your unique aesthetic concerns. At what point is it safe to wear makeup following the Bright & Tight procedure?

The ability to wear makeup varies based on the intensity of your treatment. For some patients, makeup can be reapplied as soon as the next day after the procedure. For more aggressive treatments, your provider will provide guidance on the appropriate time to resume.

RF Microneedling

Microneedling uses bi-polar, RF energy alongside minimally invasive micro-needles to facilitate effective, non-surgical, skin tightening with little to no downtime. During the treatment, heat is driven deep within the skin layers to stimulate and remodel the collagen and cause elastin cells to regenerate. This results in a firmer, smoother, and more consistent skin surface. After your treatment, we will draw your blood and spin it down to collect your body’s own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). This will be applied topically to the skin to accelerate the healing response by using your body's own growth factors. Increase hydration 72 hours prior to your appointment for optimal results. This treatment has very minimal downtime. Typically the treatment area is red for only a few hours after the session, and makeup can be worn the next day.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Instructions

Prior to Your First Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

  • Consult with your provider about any existing medical conditions, such as connective tissue disorders, diabetes mellitus, or a history of radiation or chemotherapy.
  • Inform your provider if you have an active infection or a history of herpes simplex on your lips, mouth, or face. They may prescribe an antibiotic to prevent breakouts.
  • Disclose any allergies to topical anesthetics, antibiotics, or other medications, as well as any history of keloid formations, hypertrophic scarring, or other skin conditions.
  • Do not undergo this treatment if you are currently undergoing pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • This treatment is not recommended if you have used Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 12 months.

Prior to Your Follow-Up Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatments

  • Inform your provider about any new medications you may have started taking during your treatment program.
  • Avoid treatments on areas with a suntan or sunburn.
  • Refrain from direct sun exposure and tanning beds for four weeks before treatment.
  • Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on any treatment area that will be exposed to the sun.

Precautions for Laser Skin Resurfacing

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here for you!

  • Avoid exposure to the sun and tanning beds for 30 days prior to the treatment.
  • Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the treated area. Treat the area gently. Pat skin dry after bathing or showering.
  • Makeup may be applied over the treated area 48-72 hours after the treatment, once the skin has healed and ointment is no longer required.
  • Avoid shaving the treated area for 48 hours after the procedure.
  • You may resume any skincare with active ingredients such as (Hydroquinone, Vitamin C, Retinol, Retin A, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Lactic acid) after the skin has fully healed. (Approximately 7-10 days)

Expectations After Your Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

  • Expect mild to moderate redness (erythema) in the treatment area, which can last for up to a few hours to as long as a few weeks.
  • Almost all treated areas will experience redness.
  • Immediately after the procedure, you may experience a mild sunburn sensation with some mild discomfort.
  • Most patients do not experience significant discomfort. However, you can apply an ice pack (not direct ice) to soothe areas with discomfort.
  • If you tend to swell after procedures, you can take Claritin or Zyrtec daily for one week before and one week after your appointment.
  • An occlusive ointment may be used after facial resurfacing treatments.
  • It is important to protect your skin from environmental elements. Therefore, use a lotion with an SPF protection of at least 30 daily.
  • A few days after the procedure, you will likely experience mild to moderate peeling of the skin (depending on treatment settings). The peeling is similar to the effects of sunburn.
  • Continue to follow the skincare regimen provided by Candice Roberts, NP.
  • Do not pick at the peeling skin, as it may lead to scarring.

The Night of Your Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

  • Sleep with your head elevated to reduce swelling.
  • If you experience swelling, you can take Benadryl to help alleviate it.
  • Replace your pillowcase with a fresh one each night until your skin has fully healed.

The Day After Your Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

  • Soothe irritation and eliminate bacteria in the treatment area by applying a vinegar and water solution (2 cups of water mixed with 1 capful of vinegar) to a soft cloth and gently dabbing it onto your face.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the healing process to aid in skin hydration.
  • Shower as you normally would, but be cautious as the treated area may be sensitive to temperature changes.
  • Refrain from swimming pools, hot tubs, and activities that involve chlorine exposure during your treatment program.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure during your treatment program. Once your skin has fully healed (typically within a week), always use a topical sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
  • Avoid using loofah sponges, exfoliants, or harsh scrubbing techniques on the treated areas.

These guidelines will help ensure optimal healing and minimize any discomfort following your Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment.

General Post-Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Skincare

Proper skin care is important to protect the newly refreshed skin. Candice Roberts, NP, will discuss a proper skincare regimen following your treatment.

Treatment Instructions for Laser Hair Removal

Before Your Laser Hair Removal Treatment

Don’t Pluck

Prior to a laser hair removal treatment, patients must abstain from tweezing, waxing, or any other unwanted hair treatment that removes hair from its root. There must be hair in the hair follicle for laser hair removal to work. The laser is attracted to the melanin, or pigment, of the hair. The hair must be in its anagen, or active, growth phase.

Don’t Tan

You should also avoid sun exposure 4-6 weeks before your laser hair removal treatment. Tanned skin has extra melanin, which attracts laser energy.

Don’t Moisturize

Right before your laser hair removal treatment, avoid applying any lotion, sunscreen, perfume, or other similar cosmetics to the surface of your skin.

Shave

Shave 1-3 days before your session. The idea is to have a nice, close shave so that there is no hair outside the skin. It is best to have just enough hair to be visible, so your laser technician knows what is to be treated. There may be some slight charring of the small amount of stubble that gets hit by the laser. So, if you notice an odor of singed hair, that’s normal.

Treatment Instructions for Laser Vessel treatments

Laser Vessel Pre-Treatment Instructions

Discontinue medications or supplements that may thin your blood one week prior to vein treatments to minimize bruising and improve the success of your treatment. This includes fish oil, flaxseed oil, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve), and red wine. If you are taking aspirin electively and not upon the advice of your physician, then you may stop it for 48 hours prior to your treatment. Do not stop aspirin if prescribed or recommended by your physician. You may wish to bring a pair of shorts to wear during your treatment if you are having your legs treated.

If facial veins are being treated, there may be minor bruising and/or swelling following treatment. This can typically be covered using make-up. Plan accordingly since your face may show slight evidence of the laser treatment for a week or more. If leg veins are being treated, minor bruising, discoloration, and welting may occur over treatment sites. Larger leg veins may appear bruised for a period of time after treatment. Full results can take weeks or months to be realized.

Plan and schedule treatments accordingly, allowing for healing time and time for your treatment results to evolve to completion. The best time to treat leg veins is in fall, winter, and spring, when you are less inclined to wear shorts or be exposed to the sun. Plan treatments allowing for a period of no sun exposure, vigorous activity, or use of hot tubs, saunas, or spas for 48 hours after treatment

Post Leg Vein Treatment Instructions

  • Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF 30 sunblock for one month after treatment on all treated areas that may be exposed to the sun.
  • Cold compresses may be applied to reduce redness and swelling. 3. Please call us at the first sign of persistent pain or blistering.
  • Use support hose 20-30 PSI worn continuously for three to five days. (You may purchase these at a medical supply store or pharmacy.)
  • Treatment area should be gently washed twice per day with tepid water and mild soap.

Things To Avoid After Your Laser Vessel Treatment

  • Do NOT exercise for three days after treatment.
  • Do NOT use alcohol, aspirin, Advil, or any blood thinners for five days.
  • Do NOT take hot showers or baths or use hot tubs or saunas for five days.

Post-Laser Vessel Treatment Expectations

Expect some redness and swelling, which may convert to a “cat scratch” scab for 8-12 weeks. Leg vein resolution usually takes about 8-12 weeks. At the end of this process, some vessels may be gone, while others may be lighter or not affected.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser Tattoo Removal uses photo-acoustic shock waves to break ink pigments into smaller particles. Macrophages eliminate ink particles through the body’s natural pathways over time.
